Dehecco Natural rain forest project 2012
The Dehecco Foundation is funding Freedom Natural Rain Forest Pilot trial Project as described below:-

FREEDOM NATURAL RAIN FOREST:

“Resource Centre for indigenous tree species with natural herbal extracts and transforming into value addition”

VISION:  Mobilizing all human resources towards conservation which are sustainable and environmentally eco friendly.

MISSION:  Structuring a historical and environmental reference, research, cultural and training resource centre.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Practically planting of indigenous tree species on the 2 acre piece of land from Kakamega rain forest.
  2. Establishment of Indigenous tree nurseries for expansion of Freedom Natural Park project.
  3. Hosting Seminars/conference on environment conservation and agro forestry.
  4. Establishing of a historical site to address culture, traditional values and norms.
DEHECCO FOUNDATION TARGETS March 2012

DEHECCO FOUNDATION exists to advocate and facilitate
Processes that are geared towards Eradication of HIV and AIDS and society conflicts helping in the community and improving poverty status gender equity and community health care for people living in H.I.V/ Aids.
Strategies:
Prevention, Advocacy and Research, Mitigating social economic impacts of HIV and AIDS,
Integrating Treatment of the continuum care of PLWHAS Gender Issues to all programs
Networking and collaborative

Experience
Prevention and Advocacy of HIV and AIDS through Drama/Theater, Video shows, Mitigation of
Social Economic impact of HIV and AIDS, Research, seminars, village meetings, Monitoring and
Evaluation, Through the assistance of The Kenya National Aids Control Council
(NACC), Financial management/record keeping, Community mobilization and organization
Achievement
We have already conducted theater/drama/poems activities and shown HIV and AIDS Video shows to over
450 schools, with over 200,000 pupils and students, Reached over 150,000 people in Market
centers and churches in Mt Elgon, Teso, Bungoma, Lugari, Butere-Mumias and Busia Districts, In
Western province, Kenya.currently in Bungoma County taking care of 130 orphans/needy and
initiated IGAs for 50 clients,
We have 30 CBO volunteers trained on: -
Control and management of HIV and AIDS using several techniques as stepping stone methodology.
Home based care of PLWHA
HIV and AIDS Counseling
Leadership skills
Financial management skills
Sourced and used over Kshs 5,000,000 in managing HIV and AIDS since 2000
Have a well equipped office with good records
Trained on behavior change techniques/skills
Peer educators.
